Roberto Madisonjay Corrias is an American artist, born Italian. He lives in New York City. He was born in Cagliari Sardinia. After studying Classics, his base was the town of Florence(1974-1980). Since then, he started traveling to Europe, Asia, and Africa, with paper and ink for his drawings. His love for the Renaissance, in particular Sandro Botticelli combined with the special devotion to the Netherlandish painter Hieronymus Bosch, contribute an enormous number of drawings, mostly black and white.

The town of Rome became in the 80’s his base and his interest in Caravaggio and the beauty of the Eternal City contributed to his endless painting. Most of his paintings are oil on canvas in large scale, colorful and conceptual. to describe his artistic backgroud, he used to say “son of Andy Warhol and grandson of Giorgio De Chirico.
In fact, Metafisica and Pop Art were in his daily work. The theme of his work deals with the Human Condition.

Since the late 90’s, Roberto Corrias has been based in New York City. He lives with his wife Sue and has a daughter Valentina Pietra . In the last several years his paintings consist in compositions with large fields of color where the anthropomorphic figures epitomize the human condition.
